Our Enterprise Bargain

It is the individual workers responsibility to be aware of dangers in their area of work and to be satisfied that there is no risk to their own or their fellow workers health and safety.

Individual workers are to advise their foreman/supervisor if they are unsure of any risks of if they believe their workplace to be unsafe.

Individual workers who have particular problems or phobias which may affect their ability to work safely must inform their Foreman/Supervisor.

Individual workers who are not able to agree with their Foreman/Supervisors requests concerning their safety must not continue working in such a condition and must speak to Deborah Skidmore.

A Foreman/Supervisor is to consult his men before a new job starts.

  • To explain the work to be done;
  • To explain the method of carrying out the work;
  • Be sure each man understands.

A Foreman/Supervisor is to respond to workers requests and be alert to workers who appear to be unsure of their safety.

Foreman is to have Level 2 First Aid Qualifications to have on hand Fire fighting equipment and First Aid Kit.

A Foreman/Supervisor is not to employ any worker in an area where the employee is not confident, eg. those who have a fear of heights should work only at a height where they are comfortable.

Foreman/Supervisors who believe an employee is not able or willing to work in a safe manner shall relocate the worker where safety is not at risk and inform Deborah Skidmore.
